Tioga Downs Opens in New York State

Friday, December 2nd, Tioga Downs, Nichols opened for business, they are the first casino of four New Slots developments in upstate New York. The opening happened despite the face that the casino was the last to receive a state license. During 2017 the other three venues are also expected open as well. The three casino's are the Montreign Resort Casino in Sullivan County; the Rivers Casino & Resort at Mohawk Harbor in Schenectady; and the Del Lago Resort & Casino in Seneca County.

Tioga Downs located west of Binghamton is just about 95 miles from the Pennsylvania border.

The casino already offers a racino, and the venue's new casino facility will also include 33 table games as well as 944 slot machines.

After the opening, the owner Jeffrey Gural, who also owns the Vernon Downs racino, central New York and the New Jersey's Meadowlands Racetrack, stated that People have been wishing for table games in the area for a long time.

Players have longed to play but haven't been able to. The casino attracts many different people. The young people prefer the table games said Mr Gural, who stated had he relied only on older folk then he would have gradually gone broke.

Tioga Downs is expected to achieve an extra $32 million in annual revenues for the state government, plus they are also to create 800 full-time jobs and $11.6 million in wages during their first year of operation.

Currently the casino has contracted over 200 employees, and they are encouraging other people to come forward to apply. Tioga Downs has committed to the expansion of its facilities in the future, this includes the addition of a hotel. Construction on this six-story building got started in September.

The casino also has plans for other amenities which includes a spa, a few more restaurants, plus a convention and entertainment center.

Previously New York has indicated that they consider pursuing going into online gambling legislation once all of the state's new casino facilities have been opened.
